3 dimensional art, often known as 3d chalk art is 2-dimensional artwork drawn on the street itself that gives you a 3-dimensional optical illusion. Three dimensional drawing nothing new – the concept itself dates back to the Greeks in the 5th Century BC – but employing perspectival techniques on such a huge scale and with such a broad scope is a much more recent innovation.

Minimalist black and white photography by Gavin Dunbar
"I’m a keen amateur photographer from Edinburgh, and after taking up photography a few years ago it has now become a serious hobby. When I started I was photographing anything and everything, but over time I have developed a real passion for monochrome long exposures, specifically high contrast seascapes and minimalist subjects. I have also recently started to photograph modern architecture and am enjoying the challenge of being out of my comfort zone – walking around the city with a tripod is very different and attracts a lot more attention than wandering up and down the coast with a camera!" ~ Gavin Dunbar

What's Next for Pinterest
Though some Web companies seem to have product surprises around every corner (ahem, Facebook), Pinterest’s road map is actually relatively obvious. For all its popularity and next-big-thinginess and $1.5 billion valuation, Pinterest is missing a bunch of significant components.
In my conversations with people in and around Pinterest, it has been clear that the 40-person company is adding these features as quickly as it can hire and build — all the while keeping up with demand.
But I’ve also been warned that, like many of the products its users save, Pinterest wants its products to feel handcrafted and unique, so it may be a bit slower than some might hope.

Google Search Beats the Crap Out of Siri In 1600 Question Test
Pitting Google search against Siri using a monster 1600-question test shows how useful Siri really is: not at all. Google answered correctly 86 percent of the time. Siri achieved just 68 percent accuracy. At that point, it's not much better than a crystal ball.
We knew that Siri isn't very good. But this intense test shows just how ridiculous the gimmicky voice assistant could be.
The fact is that even Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has been saying this since the day Apple introduced the iPhone 4S with Siri. It just sucks. Siri as an independent product, before Apple acquired it, the Woz told us at the Gizmodo Gallery...

How Playing Games Makes You Live Longer
It’s easy to write off our gaming addiction as a waste of time. But game designer Jane McGonigal argues the exact opposite; that games can actually extend our life expectancy. And she has the data to support it.
McGonial, who in a previous TED Talk advocated that the world collectively play 21 billion hours of games per week, started her presentation at TED Global on Thursday by citing a widely-circulated study of the most common regrets of people on their death beds.
She then detailed how games address all of them, drawing on her personal experience of suffering a serious concussion that left her unable to do most of the things she loved, like playing video games, reading, writing and caffeine. That left her deeply depressed, to the point where she said “I am either going to kill myself, or I’m going to turn this into a game.”

If the last month has made anything evident, it's that tech companies are not treating voice recognition as a gimmick, and in fact, are increasingly paying more attention to it. But like our friend Matt Buchanan points out, it's sort of de-humanizing. Is this something you actually use? How do you use it? Do you feel comfortable talking to your phone in public?

Chrome browser to debut on iPhone and iPad today
Chrome Vice President Brian Rakowski announced (and Tweeted) Chrome for iPhone and iPad (free, App Store) at Google I/O 2012 today in San Francisco.
According to reportage by The Verge Chrome for iOS will require iOS 4.3 or higher and will support Chrome sync. Blurry photos of the slideware don’t provide many more details other than the fact that it’s strikingly similar to Chrome for Android. No surprises there.
Possibly the most newsworthy part of the announcement is the fact that Chrome for iOS is available today.
Although it has a lot of potential for Chrome users on the desktop, I primarily use Safari on OS X and like its iCloud bookmark syncing. Plus iOS 6 is adding iCloud tab syncing which will be an added bonus.

7 Rules of Listening, Really Listening
A few days ago, I got a message from one of my best friends. She asked if we could meet and maybe have a little chat. I didn’t hesitate and said yes. It was great way to catch up.
When we saw each other inside the quiet little café we agreed on, she immediately went onto a sort of rant right after the usual pleasantries. She lamented about how she had this huge problem with a co-worker and how the situation was upsetting her and disrupting her work life.
I listened while she talked, and although we both dropped a few jokes every now and then, I can see that her work situation was definitely weighing her down. The “rant” winded down after a while. She then heaved a sigh of relief and said, “What do you think?”
