The World’s Largest Aquarium Opens in Singapore
The recently opened S.E.A. Aquarium in Singapore has laid claim to the throne of the biggest water tank in the world. The aquarium, which opened on November 22 of this year, contains over 800 species of marine animals, swimming in almost 12 million gallons of water. Nearly 100,000 animals are spread across its 10 different zones and 49 habitats. It also houses the world’s largest single viewing panel — approximately 118 feet wide by 27 feet tall.

Intrepid photographers submitted over 700 underwater images for the 2012 Underwater Photography Contest and an adorable red sea slug grinning for the camera was awarded the contest’s star. First Images From the Bottom of the World
James Cameron went down to the deepest pit of hell and came back unscathed. It was an amazing trip. He touched down on the Challenger Deep, exploring for three hours. "It's an alien world," he said. These are the first images.
The footage—taken with 3D high definition cameras and an 8-foot-long LED lamp—shows a place that looks like the surface of the Moon. But this alien world on Earth is not as dead as our silver satellite. There's life even down there, according to the film director and explorer.
