Flat design is becoming increasingly popular in the design and development space. When we say “flat” we are referring to the minimalist approach to design. We remove borders, shadows, variants, 3d elements to come up with a very clean simple and yes flat design. Minimal design has been popular for a while and it seems that the flat concept is taking the minimalist approach to next level. In this post we have put together some beautiful iPhone applications with flat design. If you like these designs you might also want to check out our previous post below.

LinkedIn releases redesigned iPhone and Android app with big, bright news stories
Today LinkedIn is releasing an overhauled iPhone and Android app, as well as a matching mobile website, all with a cleaner, sleeker layout that makes it much easier to navigate. The company's old design featured a sequence of nonstop gray blocks that were packed with information, but now LinkedIn is replacing those with big and bright tiles that give more room to each of the stories in the news stream, similar to the iPad app that it released last year. Larger photos and text fill up every story, and each update is separated by a simple break between the tiles. The new app also replaces the previous version's icon-based navigation menu with a left-hand sliding pane, which includes personalized shortcuts and generally lets users move around the app more quickly.

'Yes, A Lower-Priced iPhone Is In The Works And Expected This July'
Apple's lower-cost iPhone is a lock for this year, says Topeka Capital analyst Brian White.
White has been touring Asia for the last two weeks passing along all the gossip he's hearing. We would be hesitant to characterize any of it as much more than gossip. Supply chain sources can be fickle, and inaccurate. But it's still fun to hear what's being talked about.

iPhone 5S Rumor Roundup: Everything We Think We Know
The build up to the launch of a new iOS device is always paved with rumors, speculation, and mostly unfulfilled promises. Every year the tech world and the regular world collectively obsess over Apple’s newest device as images leak and insiders report.
If Apple’s typical naming scheme is to be trusted, we can basically guarantee we’ll be seeing the latest iPhone carry the title of 5S. Though some say this will only be one of three models set to launch in 2013. All signs point to a nearly identical design on the outside with all the changes taking place under the hood. From there, the rumors range from absurd to virtually certain and we try to tell you which is which along the way.

Is This an iPhone 5S Prototype? [Rumor]
We know by now that Apple has adopted a more-or-less annual update cycle for the iPhone. In between major revisions, we’ve seen the company release “S” versions that feature upgrades to the previous version’s internal hardware. But GSM Arena received a couple of pictures showing what their tipster thinks is a prototype of the iPhone 5S. If – and that’s a huge if – these images are legitimate, then it looks like the iPhone 5′s thin and tall form will be discarded in favor of that of a Nokia Lumia.

Apple Starting Production on Next iPhone This Quarter
Apple reportedly plans on starting production on its newest iPhone this quarter.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the phone will look and feel similar to Apple’s iPhone 5, with small spec bumps under the hood. The Journal also claims Apple is working on a lower-cost iPhone, made of a different — perhaps colored — material than the current iPhone.
WSJ sources claim that the next phone will launch this summer. The iPhone 5 launched in September of 2012, which would put the next phone’s launch right around the one-year mark for that device.

Apple working on its own gamepad for iPhone and iPad
Apple has repeatedly claimed again and again during the company’s meteoric rise to consumer electronics dominance: It’s not making a video game console. Why should it? The iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and the iTunes App Store have fundamentally changed the nature of the video game business, making mobile gaming into a cultural and commercial force to be reckoned with. Mac sales even hit enough of a critical mass for Valve to bring Steam to Apple’s devices a couple of years back. Living room entertainment remains a quirky side project for the company, what with streaming gaming available by pairing the iPad and Apple TV, but it’s not a priority. Apple tried it once with the Pippin and failed, so why mess with success now?
The Next 2 iPhones Were Developed Under Steve Jobs
Apple has already designed the next two versions of its iconic iPhone, with both phones well underway before CEO Tim Cook took the helm of the company.
That’s according to San Francisco District Attorney George Gascon, who says he was told this when he met with Apple’s government liaison Michael Foulkes in the last week.
Presuming Apple sticks to its regular naming convention, the two phones Foulkes was referring to are the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 6...

There's A Security Flaw With Apple IDs That Puts Your Account At Risk
Update: Apple has shut down its "iForgot" password recovery page to deal with a security flaw, which is described below.
Original: Watch out, there's a security flaw that could let someone easily take over your Apple accounts, Chris Welch at The Verge reports.
If someone knows your email address and your date of birth they can reset your password. All it takes is a slight tweak of a URL on Apple's "iForgot" page.
Welch says there is a step-by-step guide floating around the Internet, though he didn't link to it to discourage people from actually doing it.

iPhone 5S with improved camera and faster processor could launch in Q3, report says
Now that the dust has settled following the recent launch of Samsung’s new flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone, it’s time to once again check on how the iPhone rumor mill is doing. Listen carefully and….yes….it’s still turning.
Taiwan-based tech publication DigiTimes, which has a hit-and-miss record with its tidbits surrounding upcoming iterations of Apple’s popular handset, on Thursday reported that components for the next-generation iPhone will begin shipping towards the end of May, with the handset – expected to be called the iPhone 5S – lined up for a Q3 2013 launch.
Citing sources “from the upstream supply chain”, DigiTimes said the new handset would not receive a “major” upgrade and is therefore likely to be a “slightly enhanced” version of the iPhone 5.

Best Music Apps for iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone
If you lump them all together, there are probably no fewer than a zillion different music apps on Google Play, the App Store, and Windows Phone Store combined. Those aren’t exact figures, but based on Digital Trends’ own independent research, we estimate that the number is somewhere between a zillion and a jillion. So as a smartphone user, you have access to just about any type of music program imaginable, from internet radio apps to guitar tuners and everything in-between. But unfortunately your smartphone has a limited amount of space, so you’ve got to be choosy. You can’t download the entire zillion apps (yet), so we’ve dug up the best music apps available for iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone.
It should be noted, however, that the number of music apps available varies greatly from store to store. Apple’s App Store easily has the most, followed closely by Google Play – but the Windows Store is currently anemic when it comes to music apps. As such, you’ll find that the following list features proportionately more iOS and Android apps than those for Windows Phone. We’ll update the list as the Windows store grows, but for now it’s rather short on options.

Apple's next iPhone: a rumor roundup
The iPhone 5 came out less than six months ago, but rumors of Apple's next phone are already swirling. There were signs in January that Apple may already be testing a new iPhone, and The Wall Street Journal reported that a low-cost version of the iPhone may arrive this year. Though it's never certain that rumors will add up, nearly everything about last year's iPhone 5 was leaked in advance of the phone's debut. Let's take a look at what the rumors are saying about Apple's next move for the iPhone.

iPhone 5S Rumors Point To August Release, iPad In April
The iPhone and iPad rumor mills have become a tired and played out annual rite of the gadget wars. When are they coming? What will they look like? Apple rumors are big business, even when they are horribly inaccurate.
The latest rumors making the circuit concern the timing of Apple releases for the fifth-generation iPad and the so-called iPhone “5S.” According to Rene Ritchie from Apple-centric blog iMore, we could see the next iPads coming in April. The iPhone 5S is likely scheduled for late summer, probably August.
Here Are Some Gorgeous Concept Designs For An iPhone 6
Apple's next iPhone will probably launch at some point this year.
There haven't been any rumors or leaks of what the phone's next design will look like but French tech site, Nowhereelse.fr has commissioned graphic designer, Martin Hajek to imagine.
Hajek draws inspiration from the current iPad Mini design and offers the device in two different screen sizes.
We like how the device has no edge to edge bezel and no home button. Instead of a physical home button the function is imagined to resemble Apple's MacBook trackpad invisible button.
Twitter discontinuing iPhone, Android, and Air versions of TweetDeck
Twitter has announced that it will be discontinuing several TweetDeck apps in favor of the web client. The Android, iPhone, and Air-based desktop clients will all be affected; the apps will be removed from their stores in early May, and stop functioning soon after. Facebook integration will also be removed.
The apps rely on version 1.0 of Twitter's API, which has just been superseded by 1.1, and as such the company warns that performance may be sporadic until it finally stops offering the products altogether. No mention is made of the newer desktop clients — while development will focus on web apps, there hasn't yet been an API 1.1 update.
In a blog post, the TweetDeck team says that in order to "offer a great product that addresses your unique needs, we're going to focus our development efforts on our modern, web-based versions of TweetDeck."

Apple iPhone Update Will Kill Jailbreak
Apple is working on an update to its iOS software for iPhones and iPads that will likely prevent users from jailbreaking their phones, according to Forbes.
The news comes from one of the developers who made the popular jailbreaking tool called Evasi0n, which lets users hack the newest version of iOS.
Apple's upcoming update apparently plugs the hole that Evasi0n uses to jailbreak iPhones and iPads running iOS 6. Developers are already testing the new version of iOS, so it'll likely launch within a few weeks.

iOS 6.1 Security Risk: Anyone Can Bypass Your iPhone's Lock Screen
So, iOS 6.1 hasn't been Apple's finest hour. So far it's been plagued with connection issues, battery woes, and now it's sadly insecure, too. You can bypass any lockcode on an iPhone using this straightforward sequence of button presses.
The instructions are pretty simple. First you have to pretend to turn the phone off, then make an aborted emergency call, then a quick bit of off button and cancel pressing. That boots you into the full phone app where you can pretty much call or message anyone you like, or edit phone contacts.
