In designing the original iPhone, you might say that Apple took this line of thinking to heart. Indeed, Steve Jobs once referenced the aforementioned Gretzky quote in reference to the company's approach to developing new products. And when Steve Jobs showed off the iPhone for the first time, it was clear that Apple completely re-imagined the very notion of what a smartphone is and could be.
