How to Always Start Any Browser in Private Browsing Mode

Media_httpcdnhowtogee_oadzo

Private browsing mode doesn’t offer complete privacy, but it does prevent your browser from saving your history, searches, cookies, and other private data between browsing sessions. You can have your browser always start in private-browsing mode if you prefer it.

Most people won’t want to use private-browsing mode permanently. You will have to log into the websites you use each time you open your browser, as your browser won’t save the cookies that keep your login state.

Media_httpfreelancefo_ojhft

More and more of us are becoming freelancers. But, for many of us, the reality of freelancing is different from what we expected.

You’re probably already familiar with the freelancing feast or famine cycle problem and with the struggles freelancers in finding gigs. We’ve already discussed both of those problems on Freelance Folder, so I’m not going to go over them again in this post.

Media_httpimggawkeras_jbaxb

These days Reddit is an internet behemoth that shapes opinion and rapidly spreads news, but sometimes it's easy to forget that it only started up in 2005. In this video, founders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian explain how the site was born.

You might have heard snippets of the story before—like that fact that it was born out of a failed start-up idea, or that Huffman and Ohanian used fake accounts to fuel the site in the early days—but it's fascinating to listen to the pair talk about the history of the site. The story stretches from their first meeting at college right the way up to present day, and it's well worth ten minutes of your time.

Media_httpwwwgraphicd_dzdll

It was 2007 and business was booming. I was getting 2-3 requests for web development work a day and could barely keep up.

Microsoft Starts Integrating Skype Into Office

Media_httptctechcrunc_cjfid

Microsoft announced its plans to buy the popular peer-to-peer VoIP service Skype in early 2011 and the acquisition closed last October. Since then, though, Microsoft mostly left Skype alone and continued to run it as a stand-alone product. With the release of the next version of Office, Microsoft is now integrating Skype closely into its office productivity suite. What If Facebook Started Charging Facebook Users?

Media_httpimggawkeras_iuiaj

Have you seen Facebook stock lately? It's no where near where it IPO'd at. And since that means Facebook isn't worth as much, the hilarious folks at Jest realized that means Facebook needs to start earning some cash moneys... by charging for Facebook.

Can you imagine how many options Facebook could offer if they decided to make Facebook cost money? Jest did. Things like Facebook Pro which simplifies Facebook privacy settings and lets you see who's creeping on your page, Friends Plus which hooks you up with celebrities, Facebook Gold which effectively turns your page into MySpace and so much more. This is the future of a failing Facebook. Ain't it nice?
