Beautiful cinematic photography by Raúl González

Media_httpfarm9static_bhchw

Raúl González was born in Malaga though he lived most of his life in Mallorca, Spain. His love of photography was born with him, as it is something he had inherited from his father who always had a small Kodak Instamatic in hand wherever he went. It took Raúl a while to figure out what he enjoyed photographing most, which is mainly street photography with special emphasis on street portraits, old scooters, and vintage cars and bikes. I also enjoyed looking at how he processes his photos and how his gives them this beautiful, elegant cinematic feel.

Beautiful cinematic photography by Eneade

Media_httpfarm9static_webfp

Eneade is a self taught photographer and musician from France. He’s mainly focused on street and cinematic photography.

Many people disagree on what defines a photograph as cinematic. In its origin, a cinematic photograph is a print reproduction of a frame shot from a movie reel. However, more and more people are coming around to the notion of applying cinematic effects to digital still pictures, and more and more people (like Eneade here) are becoming exceptionally skilled at doing that.

A cinematic still photograph is basically one that you think looks as a frame that could be taken from a movie, a shot that seems to stimulate a feeling of a bigger story behind it. One that just seems to have the right mood and atmosphere.

Creative cinematic photography by Jeff Krol

Media_httpfarm4static_rcsad

“ I’m Jeff Krol from the Netherlands. I live in a rather small town and have a full time job as allround serviceman/mechanic in a huge factory. I started photographing in 2008. Did this for a year and even won a few prices, stopped for a year and picked it up again this year. I love portraiture and cinematic photography. All together: I want to give the viewer a special mood, a little story or just a plain ‘WOW’ as they see my pictures… that gives me a great feeling! “

When he first started taking photos, the tiny details of life that often go unnoticed was what grabbed his attention most. Since then, he has paid particular attention to those details, especially the emotions and actions of people, trying to capture and share them with the world. For him, there is always a story behind each street photo. It is up to the photographer to capture the scene and to the viewer to discover and interpret the story behind it.
