Amazon may bring Silk browser to PC, Mac, Android, and Windows Phone

Media_httpcdn2digital_swjif

Amazon has registered domain names that indicate it may plan to bring its Silk browser to PC, Mac, Android, and Windows Phone platforms.

On Wednesday, while Jeff Bezos was taking the stage to unveil the Kindle Fire (our impressions here) and its new Silk browser, Amazon employees were furiously buying up about 500 different Website domain names related to the Kindle Fire and Silk. All of the purchases were defensive, but a few of them hint that Amazon may have broader plans for its Silk browser. The online retailer may bring its browser to PC, Mac, Windows Phone, Windows Shop, and Android. Registrations for “silkontablets.com” and “silkonsmartphones.com” hint at even broader support.

Amazon may have Palm on its shopping list.
The retail giant is said to be in "serious negotiations" to acquire what's left of Palm from current parent Hewlett-Packard, according to VentureBeat.
Citing a "well-placed source," VentureBeat says that HP is eager to get rid of Palm, and among the current suitors, Amazon is the closest to cutting a deal. The tech news site also notes a connection between the companies as former Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein, who currently has a role at HP working with WebOS, joined Amazon's board of directors last year.

Street photography inspiration from Stephane Paquet

Media_httpfarm6static_ioguh

“Living in a city of 2 million people, I quickly discovered that I didn’t have to drive to the country to find interesting subjects to photograph. Street photography was, at first, convenient (considering that I didn’t have a car at the time) but it has become my favorite kind of photography. I love this art because of its immediacy. Just outside my apartment, any time of the day, any time of the year, people walk, chat and wait… people smoke, bike and beg.. people scream, yawn, and frown… making the city vibrant with life… making the city the best of places for a photographer without a car.

Awesome And Imaginative 3D Characters For Inspiration

Media_httpfc09deviant_mekcd

Character Design similar to any other design method is best begun with sketching your ideas on paper. Constructing the character’s skeleton and then fleshing it out will open up your options as to how you want the character to be portrayed. One of the basic rules of imaginative, quirky, 3d character design is “Don’t follow norms!”. Mostly all creatures have 2 eyes, so try not to stick to routine. How about 1 eye? or no eyes at all? Let your mind run really wild during the illustration process and your final little cartoon sculpt will not only be exclusive, they will be much more fun to look at.

Sony to stop supplying 3D glasses at theaters

It is almost as if there is court order requiring all action films to be released in 3D. At the very least there seems to be a sort of private agreement between studios to push the format. Ever since Avatar, studios have seen the lucrative benefits of 3D movies. Theater owners, however, have not been quite as happy to embrace the technology, as it requires major upgrades to convert older theaters into 3D-capable screens. And for many exhibitors, the cost of 3D movies is about to get a bit higher.
