Photography is a great hobby and passion for many creatives. We enjoy seeing beautiful things far and wide whether it be a landscape, a bustling city street, or a beautiful building tucked away somewhere quiet. Sometimes though, still pictures can get a little bit boring. The animated gif is always fun, and has been around for quite some time, it was once shunned on the internet but its glory has been restored as the internet has fully re-embraced that trusty little image format. Mixing Animated Gifs with still photography (or video elements), it seems, is a brilliant idea. Not only are the results fantastic, but the animation is often mind bending and captivating – leaving you breathless as you do nothing but stare – unable to turn away. Behold, the Cinemagraph.

Creatively Retouched Photographs
Photo retouching is a very delicate art when it comes to achieving a good result. Photo retouching, simply put, is the use of image editing to alter or enhance a photograph. It can use anything from simple alterations to complex manipulations and compositions.
The trick with photo retouching is to maintain a balance between the original photograph and the edits. However, the balance depends on what the photograph is for, as a nature photograph for a promotional ad will require a different balance than a high-impact sports photograph.

Top 10 mistakes in handling website images and how to solve them

Images are a major part of any modern website. Images nowadays account to more than 60% of a website's total bandwidth. This is even more pronounced when dealing with cutting-edge web design. On an image rich social website employing a Pinterest-like layout, this number can reach upward of 85% (!).
Bandwidth is unfortunately a costly commodity. For high traffic websites, bandwidth will probably be responsible for the majority of your IT costs, easily surpassing hosting and storage costs. In addition, such a large volume of traffic takes time to consume, and so, when browsing your website, your visitors are likely to spend a lot of time waiting for images to load.
Looking at the IT costs from one end and visitor abandonment due to lengthy load times on the other, you would probably like to take a good look at how you manage your images online. When every second passing reduces your website's overall conversion and ultimately revenues - it makes perfect sense to want to optimize your image and image delivery as much as possible.

Google Images gets redesigned, focuses on speed and metadata
Page and Co. have just unveiled a new look for Google Images that places a premium on metadata visibility, speed and slick looks. After gathering feedback from both users and webmasters, Google redesigned its image search to feature relevant information right next to images and speed load times by no longer loading source pages behind selected graphics. Mountain View also designed the new layout with keyboard surfing in mind, to boot. The new UI isn't available across the board quite yet, but the search titan says folks will start to see the refreshed UI in the next few days.

Where to Look for Royalty Free Images for Beautifying Your Posts?
Getting a visit to your website is totally different than making the visitor stay at your website. You must certainly have balanced proportion of good information, unique text and most importantly a good and creative graphical look and feel. It is highly observed during many studies that after landing to a web page the very first thing that a user gets attracted to it the graphical representation of that page and the content comes next to it. As a personal experience I would definitely prefer a post on same topic that has some graphical explanation along with the text part as well as it keep the boredom away.

17 Of The Most Viral Facebook Photos In History
Which photos have gone the most viral?
We turned to Likester, a social-media analytics company that tracks Facebook engagement. It has tracked more than 10 million Facebook photos, tallying the number of likes and comments for all of them.
They shared the 100 most viral photos with us. Most were from 2012, which makes sense since Facebook now has more than 1 billion users.
We screened the collection for photos that were, in our opinion, spam—for example, any photo whose caption explicitly asked someone to like or comment on the image. By eliminating those, we winnowed it down to pictures that were truly liked by millions of people.
All of them evoke some sort of feeling. Many were accompanied by emotional stories.

A reliable source provided us with the official Apple Campus 2 blueprints yesterday, and these are just a few of the confidential images, which illustrate the mammoth building currently in development.
The spaceship-like building, called “Campus 2″, is nearly a mile in circumference. Apple bought the campus’ land from HP and other neighbors in Cupertino, Calif., for around $300 million. The company’s late cofounder, Steve Jobs, oversaw its design, and the project’s proposal was his last public appearance.
