This Building's Balconies Are Actually Swimming Pools

Media_httpimggawkeras_fdhfs

Witness this architectural nightmare and deadly accident waiting to happen: a 37-story, twin tower apartment building that has apartments with swimming pools instead of balconies. Or balconies that are really swimming pools enclosed in glass. Or... whatever. No matter what you want to call this, I would call it crazy.

The building has been designed by James Law for real estate company Wadhwa Group in Mumbai, India. The complex has 200 apartments. Each of them has three sides which, according to the company, allows for cross-ventilation.

Great Examples of Clean Booklet Designs

Media_httpwwwtopdesig_cwfua

I know that we are living in mostly an online world, but I’m still in loved with things like posters, business cards, calendars or booklets. Some people say that these are replaced with social accounts, personal websites or smartphones (for calendars) but I don’t agree. If you run a business and want to bee seen as a serious person, give me your business card and don’t tell me that I can check your bio on your site. If you want to promote something, do it also using flyers and booklets because the paper can’t be replaced with virtual pixels. A potential customer needs something solid to which he can hold on to. In this article you can see some examples of clean booklet printing designs made by some very talented designers from around the world. I hope you like them and let me know what you think.

Here Are 11 Companies That Might Buy RIM

Media_httpstatic7busi_ufawk

After RIM's latest train-wreck of a quarter, the clobbered BlackBerry-maker has announced that it is "exploring strategic options."

That's code for "We're desperately trying to sell ourselves."

And that's a good plan.

At this point, there's almost no foreseeable way for RIM to make a comeback. Their products have been leap-frogged by Apple and Google, they have a small and shrinking proprietary platform (operating system), and the distinction between the "enterprise market"--RIM's former stronghold--and the "consumer market" is disappearing.

Apple Invents a Killer 3D Imaging Camera for iOS Devices

Media_httpwwwpatently_lgcbp

Apple has invented a killer 3D imaging camera that will apply to both still photography and video. The new cameras in development will utilize new depth-detection sensors such as LIDAR, RADAR and Laser that will create stereo disparity maps in creating 3D imagery. Additionally, the cameras will use advanced chrominance and luminance Sensors for superior color accuracy. And if that wasn't enough, the new cameras will not only include facial recognition but also facial gesturing recognition. Intel discussed the coming 3D revolution back in 2010 and it appears that Apple wants to be one of the first to introduce this killer 3D camera. While others may have beaten Apple to market first, the technology described in today's invention will definitely provide iOS devices with the ability to view killer 3D images that could only be appreciated on Apple's "Resolutionary" Retina Display. Apple's resolutionary experience has only begun. With the ability to view stunning 3D imagery, photos and videos on our new iPad displays, the resolutionary experience is only going pop our brains even further.

25 Impressive and Creative Packaging Designs

Media_httpimageswebde_mxjhw

When you are out about shopping for a particular product, what are the first things that will attract you to pick up a particular item, perhaps one would say the quality or a current running promotion. However, most commonly the thing that makes us pick up an item be it out of curiosity or trust is the packaging of a product. The packaging design of a product also leads consumer to make unnecessary purchase. This is also one of the main reasons why companies who could afford it will pay a large amount of money for designers to come up with creative packaging ideas or creative packaging designs to attract their consumers. This is because it has been scientifically proven that many consumers would rather pay a little bit extra for a better and more attractive packaging design as compare to a product that is poorly packaged.

We screen out the humming, roaring, beeping, clicking, and tapping in our environment, because we're so accustomed to it being there. It's the daily din of disinterest.

40+ Stunning Panorama Photos

Media_httpfarm4static_cdgta

Panoramic photography is a technique of photography, using specialized equipment or software, that captures images with elongated fields of view. It is sometimes known as wide format photography.

The term has also been applied to a photo that is cropped to a relatively wide aspect ratio. While there is no formal division between “wide-angle” and “panoramic” photography, “wide angle” normally refers to a type of lens, but using this lens type does not necessarily make an image a panorama. An image made with an ultra wide angle fisheye lens covering the normal film frame of 1:1.33 is not automatically considered to be a panorama.
