Moving Digital Artworks by Cyril Rolando

Cyril Rolando is a 27 year old clinician psychologist who currently lives in southern France. We layed our eyes upon his work on Deviantart and decided to share his beautiful work with you today. The most incredible fact is that Rolando never took any art courses, this enabled him to work with intuition to compensate for this lack of knowledge and venture into colors.

“I started to draw on computer in the end of 2003, doing oekakies, trying to improve me on this software and share my work with a community. I understood quickly that I was really unable to draw with a manga style. Line-arts bothered me, and without anatomic notions, it was really hard.

Some months later, I worked from photoreferences and tried to perform the realism. I worked with a mouse, so I was quite limited but I met the color question and I tried to play with contrasts.

After the ultra realism time, I tried to play with the surrealism things, changing the colors, adding fantasy elements or disrturbing the physical rules.” - Cyril Rolando
