How To Transfer And Sync Your iPhone Contacts With Android

Media_httpmedia02hong_dyfsx

When switching from an iPhone to an Android phone, it’s not only a change of brand but also a change of its entire operating system. Switching operating systems may result in file and format incompatibility.

This makes the transfer of private data such as Contacts, Mail and Messages a tricky process as you need to convert the files to a format that the Android operating system can read… or you can use Google Contacts.

This Contact Lens Puts a Display Right On Your Eye

Media_httpimggawkeras_yovjl

It seems like everyone and their brother is working on some sort of smart glasses, but how about smart contact lenses? It turns out those might actually be closer than you think.

Researchers at Ghent University have been working on smart contact lenses and now they've got a working prototype that uses an LCD display to put images (text mostly) right on your eyeballs. There have been previous attempts at the same general idea, but most of those only let you utilize a couple of pixels for an image, this version can use the whole surface. One of the researchers on the project, Professor Herbert De Smet, described the status of the project this way...

Augmented Reality Contacts Vs. Google Glasses

Media_httpwwwreadwrit_vueqb

Augmented reality versus Google glasses: Soon both will be on the market. The question for consumers is, "Which one should I buy?"

Details of Google's prototype glasses are still largely under wraps, but what we do know right now is that the glasses consist of a powerful processor, multiple microphones, a small speaker, a camera, wireless radios and senors that make the glasses aware of their physical location.

For example, if you use the glasses to take a picture of a landmark or a barcode, they will display information about the place or product on the upper part of the right-side lens. That's different from augemented reality, where graphics are layered on top of what you see in real time.

Augmented Reality Contact Lenses Could Be With Us In 2014

Media_httpwebtoolfeed_udcxf

The concept of vision enhancing glasses came well before the idea of contact lenses, and with augmented reality goggles only just making their way out of the test labs we’d think it would be quite some time before we saw the technology translated into the minutely thin layers of film which make up contacts

According to US development company Innovega though, that wait might not be as long as we’d think. Recently, they’ve announced that lenses able to project 3D screens directly onto people’s eyes could be with us as early as 2014 – the same year that Google has stamped for release of their Project Glass.

2012 Invention Awards: Augmented-Reality Contact Lenses

Media_httpwwwpopscico_cfwab

After two decades as an electrical engineer, Randy Sprague quit his job in 2008 to start a solar power company. He had been planning the venture for years, saving up, getting his wife’s blessing. But then one morning while taking a shower, he had a brainstorm for an entirely different idea: contact lenses that could act as part of a wearable display. Users could instantly augment their view with information—say, the price of an antique in a store or the species of a tree in the forest—or transform their field of vision into a virtual videogame screen. Suddenly the solar company no longer seemed as appealing.
