How That Football Field Was Blown Up in The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises was pretty incredible for many reasons. But one of the most jaw-dropping bits was when Bane blew-up an American football stadium right at the start of a game. Here's how they actually did it.

Raised turf with holes for people to fall into, pyrotechnics galore, a myriad of stunt personnel—and then literally months spent in the visual effects studio. Worth it in the end, though, because that scene genuinely made the movie. There'll be more where that came from when the DVD lands on December 3rd, and judging by that clip, it might actually be worth watching the special features for once.

What If Batman Used Apple Maps?

Here's an Apple Maps parody that's absolutely hilarious: what if Batman used Apple Maps in The Dark Knight to find Rachel Dawes? Yeah, that wouldn't have been good. Siri would have sent Batman down wrong turns, parking lots and malls just to see everything get blown up.

The Dark Knight Rises - Behind the Scenes

While The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters in just a little more than a week, this new 13-minute featurette is well worth committing the time as director Christopher Nolan, along with the film's cast and creative forces show how much went into the massive undertaking that was this film.

We also get some fascinating perspective on the film's intentions, characters, plot, and it really drives home the fact that this, indeed, is the finale to Nolan's groundbreaking Batman films and they intend to go out with a bang.
