Minimalist Icon Illustrations Depicting Relevant News Events
I like unique and interesting design projects and I love to feature them here for extra exposure and to inspire this site’s readers. This project has the basic idea of compressing news articles into one symbolic icon illustration relevant for the subject. It is a neat result from combining the creative expression with news coverage.
This is an innovative idea, a concept which makes icons usable not only for folders, buttons or calendars, but also for news headlines. It is a challenge more creative than usual and the design community loves it.

Grunge Minimalist Posters Illustrating Famous Movie Quotes
Making posters related to famous movies is somehow popular these days among designers. There are a lot of them doing it and they are each creating the posters in a certain style. For example, Jay Quann created this series of posters which illustrate famous movie quotes and a significant minimalist image which is relevant for the quote or the movie itself.
This is an interesting concept and there are a few posters that people might like hanging in their office or, why not, at home. For the time being, these are the only posters available, but we are surely hoping that he makes a few more because there are so many movies that people can relate to and so many really good lines that are famous.

Artists and designers usually try to create very attractive and colorful movie posters, so that the audience wouldn’t be able to look away for several seconds or sometimes even minutes. The Importance Of White Space In Web Design With Examples
Almost every designer knows or should know that white space refers to the portion between the elements of a design and it is separated in active white space, which is intentionally left blank for the purpose of the design, and the passive white space, which is the byproduct of the design (for example: the space between the letters). Some designers don’t consider white space that important and you can see this best in their designs which most of the times are cluttered.
White space is really important for readability and usability because makes things easier to read. A space between the lines can do a lot of good to the reader, rather than having the words stuck together. The same principle applies when you want to focus the viewers’ attention to a certain element. Instead of using a bright color for it, you could just leave a lot of white space around it.

The Future of Minimalist Web Design

Minimalism is the hype not just on posters and billboards but in the web as well. More and more people are finally coming to realize that “less is more”. In retrospect, the popularity of minimalist design had something to do with the onset popularity of internet capable devices.
When Apple mashed a music player, phone, and computer all into one device, people were so excited that they can surf the web on-the-go. It was a new thing in 2007, but now surfing on mobile devices is ubiquitous. According to Google’s findings, 69 percent of US mobile users access the internet on their phones daily. The only problem was, people had a hard time surfing the web in their tiny screens. Hello minimalist design!

The whole point of using an infographic is to visually represent data, as in theory, the human brain finds it easier to digest and retain visual information.
