Reddit, Craigslist and 30,000 Other Websites Oppose CISPA

Media_httprack0mshcdn_zefhg

Reddit, Craigslist and more than 30,000 other websites are flying the flag of opposition to the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, a controversial cybersecurity bill that was recently reintroduced in Congress.

The thousands of websites which oppose CISPA will, starting Tuesday, be displaying an interactive banner ad (seen below) from the Internet Defense League that allows voters to send the following message to their members of Congress: "CISPA is back. This bill sacrifices privacy without improving security. We deserve both."

How to Make Extra Money Using Craigslist

Media_httpi2wpcomwebt_znwlp

The simplest way of describing what Craigslist is all about is to state that it is a one stop resource point for nearly anything and everything that can be offered on the virtual platform. It covers such a wide array of topic that is almost impossible to conclusively and categorically state its specifics.

Facebook Tests New Listings Service

Facebook is making a big push to test new revenue streams.

One idea it tried in its early days is classifieds ads. Now Facebook is reviving that experiment, with the project on a "fast track," according to The Daily.

The ads would charge people a small fee for prominent placement in friends' news feeds. That's similar to a controversial service Facebook recently introduced where individuals can pay to boost the visibility of their posts.

Write the Perfect Craigslist Post

Media_httpimggawkeras_iegge

Craigslist is weird. Equal parts shady flea market and poetry slam—and crammed full of just as much junk as either. If you're trying to sell something or rent an apartment, your post needs to stand out. Crafting that perfect post is equal parts art and science.

Good news: I have a Black Belt in Craigslist. I've bought and sold literally dozens of cars and motorcycles, rented and rented out countless apartments, and spent more hours cruising it than I should probably admit. I know first-hand what works, and I am more than happy to let you in on the secret. Just Western Union me $85 and I will mail the secrets to you. I kid!

Is Craigslist Going to Redesign Its Layout?

Media_httpimggawkeras_mqbso

Is functional but ugly Craigslist trying to ditch its terribly outdated layout for something prettier? A job listing on Craigslist (where else?) for Craigslist is looking for hands-on Senior UI/Front-End/Usability Engineers to improve the Craigslist user experience and develop new products and features that'll make users swoon.

That's literally what the job listing says. But would you want a redesign to Craigslist? Probably not. The layout is stupid minimal and efficient to a fault sometimes but it's also the magic behind the classifieds website too. It's unlikely Craigslist would do anything dramatic but it'd be nice to see some new features for a more polished experience. Maybe they'll fix the spam and bring back personals!

Feds launch criminal probe of eBay employees over Craigslist data poaching

Media_httpcdndigitalt_hnfju

US prosecutors are investigating whether eBay employees, including the company's founder, inappropriately used confidential Craigslist business data to help build a rival business.

Federal prosecutors in the United States have launched a criminal probe to discover whether eBay employees, including founder and Chairman Pierre Omidyar, used confidential information from classified ads giant Craigslist in an attempt to build its competing business, reports Reuters. The probe comes after years of legal battles in civil courts between the two companies over allegations that eBay purchased a stake in Craigslist for the sole purpose of poaching its private business data.
