20 Free Brilliant Calligraphic Fonts

Media_httpwwwinspirat_akwdc

The word “calligraphy” originates from the Greek kallos which means “beauty” and graphẽ, meaning “writing”. It’s a visual art defined as “the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner” (C. Mediavilla, Calligraphy). Due to their embellishments, calligraphic fonts may lose on legibility and thus, general usability. But they can still be appropriate for both graphic and web design, identity and branding projects, flyers, brochures, advertisements, product packaging and more. So I decided to put together a showcase of free calligraphic fonts for you guys to add to your personal collection of design resources. Also, keep in mind that Search Free Fonts can be a great quick fix if you find yourself in need of some more free fonts.
