You'll have to wait a few weeks to get your hands on them, but we wanted to let you know there are still plenty of great devices available for purchase now. The following is our ranked list of the best smartphones you can buy today.

Media_httpimggawkeras_fbnfi

If you're looking for the fastest, most reliable internet service provider, here you have the ranking of all the major ISPs in the United States. It's actual, real world performance—compiled by Netflix from all its customer data: 30 million members watching 1 billion hours of movie content every month.

That's a lot of data, so you can be sure this is a reliable classification. The best is Google Fiber. According to Netflix, "Google Fiber is now the most consistently fast ISP in America, according to actual user experience on Netflix streams in November." It is not surprising, considering how much bandwidth the Mountain View company is hogging and how new its network is.

Media_httpstatic5busi_eopgv

The elite Cannes Lions advertising festival awarded prizes to the world's best mobile advertisements for the first time this year.

The winners of the Mobile Lions are great examples of how advertisers can meld creativity with functionality on a small screen.

The successful campaigns weren't disruptive banner ads (that mobile gets a bad rep for), but immersive augmented reality or app experiences.

R/GA's Nick Law, who will be judging a separate mobile awards show later this year, told Business Insider, "We aren't totally in the advertising industry anymore—we call ourselves that by proxy since we don't have a better word for it."

Top 100 Ranking Athletes in 2012

Media_httpdlimagesbus_dzgjf

Drew Brees had a monster season in 2011. A remarkable, record-breaking on-field performance—combined with $16 million in earnings and such off-field strengths as public appeal—pushed the New Orleans Saints quarterback to the top spot in this year’s Power 100 ranking of the most powerful athletes. Following Brees were the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers, New England Patriot’s Tom Brady, Miami Heat basketball forward LeBron James, and tennis champion Rafael Nadal. The ranking was developed by CSE, an integrated sports and marketing firm in Atlanta, and Horrow Sports Ventures. In addition to 2011 on-field metrics, total earnings, and social media presence, the ranking incorporates such off-field metrics as athletes’ name and face awareness, appeal, influence, and trustworthiness using Nielsen/E-Poll N-Score data from Encino, Calif.-based research company E-Poll Market Research. The ranking comprises only professional athletes playing in the United States. Coaches, executives, owners, agents, and athletes who retired before the 2011 calendar year were not considered. Only regular season statistics were used.
