The future of mobile business and consumer apps
Mobility is a must these days. Especially in the business world. Smart phones lead the way for mobile devices and now tablets seem to be the new trend. No business professional wants to lug around a lap top anymore, especially if they travel a lot. So the tablet has become a popular choice for the traveling business person. Not only are individuals choosing the tablet as their favorite mobile device, but big businesses are using them more as well.
Since bigger businesses are using tablets, the need for more specified applications is growing as well. Enterprise application development is growing. Enterprise applications are software platforms that are too larger and too complex for individual or small business use. They are designed to integrate with other apps within corporate networks while meeting strict requirements for security and administration management.

Survey: iPhone Users Find It Too Darn Hard to Switch
Have you ever tried talking your Apple-loving buddy into getting an Android smartphone or a Windows Phone 7 device? You'd have a better chance of selling ice to an Eskimo, a point that's underscored in a new international survey conducted by the GfK Group. According to the survey, nearly one in five consumers who own both an iPad and an iPhone believe that it's more difficult to switch smartphones than it is to change bank accounts, gas companies, or electric providers.

Think Consumers Are Tired of Deals? Better Think Again
You've probably seen it, maybe even experienced it: two expired Groupons tacked to a wall for months. That $100 in unused yoga and dance lessons reduced to bad cubicle art inspires an outright offensive against daily deals and a rash of deleted, unopened emails from Groupon, LivingSocial, DealOn, Yipit and every city magazine launching its own version of the service.

'Made in China' Goods Only Small Sliver of U.S. Consumption
Politicians and pundits talk often talk of the undue sway Chinese businesses have over American consumers without the hard numbers to back up claims. So Galina Hale and Bart Hobijn, two economists from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, have stepped in to do the mathematical heavy-lifting. What they've found is that only 2.7 percent of U.S. consumers purchases have the "Made in China" label.
"Although globalization is widely recognized these days, the U.S. economy actually remains relatively closed," the authors write in a recent report. 88.5 percent of Americans' consumer spending is on things made in the U.S. In the U.S. market, China only had the edge over domestic businesses in the nondurable goods category that includes clothing and shoes. It also, unsurprisingly, does well in the U.S. in the groups of goods that include electronics and household appliances.
