Adobe has released its Digital Video Benchmark for the U.S. for 2012, wherein the Digital Index team shows what it learned monitoring video performance throughout the year across digital platforms. The study compiles data from Adobe Marketing Cloud customers, scoring viewing habits and also monitoring ad performance. 2012 saw a massive increase in mobile viewership, according to Adobe’s numbers, though desktop still dominates when it comes to online video.
Samsung just announced the slimmer, lighter, and stronger Galaxy S4 and it looks about the same as the Galaxy S3, aside from some new software additions. There’s no denying the Galaxy S3 was the breakout star of Android in 2012 and it is clear Samsung wants to duplicate that success with the Galaxy S4 by playing it safe with the design. Despite including a larger screen at 5 inches, the S4 is actually smaller and feels smaller than the previous iteration thanks to a slimmer profile and a greatly reduced bezel. The question is whether the same-old design can compete with a more aggressive design like we’ve seen from the HTC One. Let’s look at the numbers, shall we?
If you are surfing the Web from a mobile device these days, odds are you are doing it not from a smartphone, but from some type of tablet. According to a study done by Adobe, for the first time tablets have surpassed smartphones for percentage of website views.
Adobe analyzed more than 1 billion visits for more than 1,000 websites and found that 8% of traffic came from tablets. That ranks ahead of the 7% of visits that came from smartphones. Of course, that leaves 85% or so percent of Web traffic still coming from desktop PCs and laptops.

The International Federation of Robots tracks the growth in usage, production, and trade in robots, and the numbers have grown at a tantalizing rate. Robot sales jumped by 38 percent in 2011, and the worldwide stock of robots is estimated to be in the range of 1,153,000 - 1,400,000 units — up from a minimum stock of 1,021,000 units in 2009.
South Korea lead the way in robot density in 2011, with 347 robots per 10,000 workers in the manufacturing industry. What's more impressive is the tremendous spike in robot density; South Korea had 287 robots per 10,000 workers in 2010.

Cyber Monday isn’t even over yet, but it’s shaping up to be a happy day for online retailers.
IBM reports that online sales through noon Monday EST are up 24.1% compared to the same period in 2011. Mobile is a big factor this year. Some 22.4% of consumers are using a mobile device to visit a retailer’s site and 12% of them are using such a device to make a purchase. Parsing the data further, IBM found that 8.7% of shoppers are coming from iPhones, 7.2% are from iPads and 6.3% are accessing a retail site from their Android device.
Meanwhile, only 0.2% of all Cyber Monday sales so far are referred from social networks.
Xbox World has a report on the next Xbox, which will likely be called just Xbox and not Xbox 720 or Windows Xbox 8 or something. The next Xbox is expected to have "four hardware cores, each divided into four logical cores" and 8GB of RAM and more goodies.
Currently codenamed Durango, the next Xbox will also support Blu-Ray discs, feature directional audio, TV output and input, have an "innovative controller" and introduce Kinect 2.0. Supposedly, AR glasses like Google Glasses will be released in later stages of the next Xbox. A lot of this confirms earlier reports about the Xbox 720 so it's looking more and more real. I am really excited because tomorrow is the 4th of July and the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. Know why?
