How Technology Might Have Fared Under A President Romney

Media_httpreadwriteco_zfcjc

Some scientists like to argue that we are part of a multiverse, a collection of parallel realities that reflect the different choices we may have made instead of the ones we did make. This story explores the technological implications of one such world -- a world where Gov. Mitt Romney won the presidential election. For our take on what President Obama is likely to do about technology, see How Technology Will Fare In President Obama's Second Term

How Technology Will Fare In President Obama's Second Term

Media_httpreadwriteco_scnqu

The long 18-month U.S. presidential election is finally over, and after the dust has settled, President Barack Obama has been elected to serve a second term in the highest office in the land.

The President will have a lot on his plate: dealing with the so-called fiscal cliff; keeping economic growth on track; working with the ever-complicated world outside U.S. borders; and tackling the problems surrounding the U.S. education system for starters.

What Obama's Victory Means for Tech

Media_httpimggawkeras_xelsx

Barack Obama's victory last night has far-reaching fiscal, social, and military implications, all of which are familiar to anyone who kept at least one eye open during any of this year's debates. But what do four more years mean for tech? Turns out, a lot.

While Obama hasn't indicated that he'll dramatically change course on any of his technological policies and initiatives, it's useful to look a little closer at the ones he's got. Here's what we can expect.

Media_httpwwwviralblo_gacae

The candidates are sprinting through the finish line in an effort to win the most powerful job in the world.

This article isn’t about who will win the Presidency; nor, is it about who should win the Presidency. Rather, this is an article about what marketers can learn from those running for the Presidency.

So here’s the question: what can marketers learn from the campaigns of President Obama and Governor Romney? What can we take from their organizations to help ours?

Creative Political Illustrations by Jason Heuser

Media_httpwebtoolfeed_nmxzu

Jason Heuser is a US based artist from Grand Rapids, Minnesota. His love for history and drawing weird things turned into his profession. Listed below are sixteen political illustrations. These illustrations aren’t actually political, but they do feature current and previous presidents doing badass stuff. Take for example Ronald Reagan riding a velociraptor and shooting his machine gun. If that’s not epic, then I don’t know what ‘epic’ is. Enjoy!

Who Is Winning The Presidential Election On Facebook? Obama or Romney?

Media_httpsocialfresh_lvyke

It’s less than a month until Election Day and I’m a citizen of the great state of Florida. That means I’m inundated by political messaging nearly every minute of every day.

I also work for the top public affairs communication firm in the state, which means that I can’t get away from politics, whether at home OR at work.

So, as a professional in the social media industry, I find myself constantly analyzing each candidate’s messaging on Facebook.

Whether through advertising, search, messaging or community development, these two Presidential campaigns are pioneering the use of social media unlike ever before.

Mitt Romney Storms Ahead In Another National Poll

Media_httpstatic2busi_skpbb

Mitt Romney has pulled ahead of President Barack Obama in another national poll. This time, he leads Obama by a razor-thin 45-44 mark in the Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll, gaining a point from Tuesday's result.

The poll — which consists entirely of post-debate interviews — is a 6-point shift from the last Reuters/Ipsos poll before the debate, when Obama led Romney 46-41.

The key movement for Romney in the Reuters poll has come in shoring up his advantage on the economy and federal debt. Romney now has a lead on which candidate would best handle the economy and "jobs and employment" after being tied or trailing in those issues pre-debate.
