DC Universe Online will go free-to-play on November 1

Sony Online Entertainment reveals the date DC Universe Online will cross over to a free-to-play model.

Last month, Sony Online Entertainment announced plans to drop the monthly subscription fee for DC Universe Online, the MMORPG featuring a massive roster of DC Comics heroes and villains. Well, the free-to-play moment has finally arrived… or rather, it will arrive in just a few days.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Gets a Release Date

The release date of the highly anticipated MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic has been made public. Bioware and LucasArts have confirmed the official release date for video game to be December 20 in North America and December 22 in Europe.

The release date was revealed at the Eurogamer Expo in London. BioWare co-founders Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk confirmed the date, with Dr. Myzka saying "This is an incredible moment for everyone at BioWare and our partners at LucasArts who have dedicated their lives to build this extraordinary game. We appreciate the patience from the millions of fans who have been waiting for the game's release."

A look at Star Wars: The Old Republic's end game

The highly anticipated Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG still lacks a release date, but Bioware isn't shying away from showing off some end-game content.
As a bit of background for the uninitiated, gamers can group together in SW:TOR and tackle challenges called "operations," which are similar to raids or instances found in World of Warcraft. These types of areas are critical to those who have reached the maximum level possible by offering intensive teamwork experiences and the chance to acquire high-powered items. Dallas Dickinson, Bioware's director of production, previews one of those operations, Eternity Vault, in a 10-minute video released a few days ago.

Star Wars The Old Repblic Will have a Limited Release... Buy ASAP

If you plan on playing SWTOR you should buy ASAP because the news is out that there will be a limited release, and not just on preorders. When the news was first announced by EA that pre-orders were ready, gamers scrambled to ensure they would get one of several limited Collector’s Edition copies of the game.

But now the news seems to be the same for any edition you want to buy and not just for pre-orders. Game Informer reports that there will be limited copies of all versions of the game- both digital and physical. Just how many copies will that be? Well, your guess is as good as ours because they’re keeping the number secret.
