Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch Headed to Apple

Kevin Lynch, Adobe’s CTO and a longtime defender of its Flash technology, is leaving the company to take a position at one of Flash’s biggest critics: Apple.

Lynch tendered his resignation yesterday saying he planned to “pursue other opportunities.” And, according to Adobe, those opportunities are at Apple.

“Kevin Lynch, Adobe CTO, is leaving the company effective March 22 to take a position at Apple,” an Adobe spokesperson told AllThingsD. “We will not be replacing the CTO position; responsibility for technology development lies with our business unit heads under the leadership of Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen. Bryan Lamkin, who has recently returned to Adobe, will assume responsibilities for cross company research and technology initiatives as well as Corporate Development. We wish Kevin well in this new chapter of his career.”

But a photo Zuckerberg posted of the Facebook executives who recently took a trip to Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark., is a pretty good clue.

Reuters says that the group was Zuckerberg's "senior management team."

26% of Executives Are Sleeping with Their Phones

Not for nearly a quarter of 1,600 business managers and professionals, surveyed from a list of business people who've taken executive education courses at Harvard. According to Harvard Business School professor Leslie Perlow, 26% of these go-getters answered yes when asked, "during the week do you sleep with your handheld device?" That finding anchors her aptly titled new book, Sleeping With Your Smartphone, all about businesspeople's crazy marriage to their work (often through their smartphones). The key passage...

Executives 'Blown Away' by Apple's New Products

Media_httpimggawkeras_sqgcg

Fortune has a lengthy profile of Tim Cook on tap in this week's issue, compiling reports of the CEO's performance through the first 7 months and how that has affected Apple. Mostly there's nothing new; Cook is an accessible, efficient CEO who is putting his expertise in factory production to good use. But there are a few bits of interest, including murmurs of Apple's future products.

As Fortune describes, Apple holds an annual event where it invites, according to its own criteria, the "Top 100" executives to check out the company's upcoming roadmap.
