According to the Associated Press the average pay for the CEO of a public company in 2011 was 9.6 million dollars. So even if you are a CEO of a company, in order to earn a billion dollars you will need about 104 years and that too assuming that you don’t spend a penny out of your salary! You check out any list of the world’s most richest people. You will find that all of them would be involved in a business of some sort and none of them would be doing a salaried job.
