“Color splashing” is a fundamental photo manipulation/retouching/editing method utilized by many artists/photographers/designers worldwide, that is used to emphasize certain features of a photograph & to bring about just the right amount of focus in their expression/perspective. This technique is elsewhere referred to sometimes as Selective colorization / Hand coloring. By leaving particular areas of a photo colored, and filling the rest of the photo with gray-scale/mono, you can focus certain parts of an image to make it stand out. With the right subject this can give really striking results.
