With Android, Google already had its tentacles deep into the smartphone market. The highly successful company was and is doing amazingly well with its popular mobile operating system and phones that carry it. But that was certainly not going to make Google complacent.
Google continues to have bigger plans – something that is quite evident from its very recent acquisition of Motorola for $12.5 billion. While this has come a great surprise to all, what will not be a surprise is Google’s increasing success in the smartphone field. And the only company this will hurt is Apple.
