A Collection of Selective Color Photography

Media_httpnewevolutio_hcnft

Selective color photography is used to highlight and draw our attention to a particular area of a photo. This helps to intensify whatever emotion the photo is trying to convey. Creating this effect is fairly simple to do. The technique is carried out post-processing and can be completed on photo editing software such as Photoshop, GIMP and Silverfast. By creating layers it is easy to change certain areas of the photo to black and white, and specific elements to color.

Selective color photography can be used to create different emotions when looking at a photo. It can make you laugh or smile, or even make you feel sad. It allows you to focus on an aspect you may have not noticed in the original photo. It can also turn a dull monochrome scene into something vibrant.

Most examples of selective color photography use a monochrome image and then contrast it with bright colors. However in some of the examples shown, the mixing of different color combinations can also be applied to create this stunning effect.
