“ My name is Carmelo Eramo, I’m a primary school teacher and a street and reportage photographer.
I live in the South of Italy and I think this influences deeply my photographic vision and style. I love to photograph and tell my land, where the more dazzling is the sunlight, the darker are the shadows, which is not simply an aesthetical question. So, as Ferdinando Scianna said, “the South’s pictures, took by the southern photographers, are black”: it’s a question more existential and psychological than stylistic. “
