Now that the Department of Justice is suing to block the AT&T/T-Mobile merger, what happens? Very probably a huge lawsuit: as Bloomberg points out, AT&T agreed to a huge breakup fee if the merger doesn't go along, so it has every incentive to fight this.
AT&T not only agreed to a $3 billion cash breakup fee, but also "to give T-Mobile USA wireless spectrum, and to reduce charges for calls into AT&T’s network, a package valued at as much as $7 billion".
