Beautiful Houses: Big & Small House

Media_httpimgsabduzee_hayio

I have been doing the Beautiful Houses post for a while now, and I am also a big fan of architecture. And although I browse architecture related sites looking for inspiring houses, every single day I get impressed with new architectural master pieces.

Today we will show you the cool Big & Small House in Los Angeles, a project by Anonymous Architects. This project is really nice because it shows that even though the house looks small the interiors are wide and really beautiful, proving that with the right architectural decisions you can have a smart use of space and a beautiful result.

In the past 18 months, Zynga CEO and cofounder Mark Pincus purchased a mansion in San Francisco for $16 million; Netscape cofounder Jim Clark purchased a sprawling estate in Southampton for an estimated $49 million; Russian tech investor Yuri Milner purchased a chateau-style mansion in Silicon Valley for a record $100 million; and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison purchased the entire Hawaiian island of Lanai for an estimated $600 million.

Why It Takes So Long to Fix a Power Outage

Media_httpimggawkeras_amduf

A storm this weekend knocked out power to millions of buildings in the mid-Atlantic region. About 443,000 lost electricity in the Washington, DC area, and over 200,000 outages occurred in southern New Jersey. The utilities that serve those two markets, Pepco and Atlantic City Electric—say it might take until midnight on Friday, July 6, before everyone gets back online. July 6th? Are you kidding? Why does it take so long?
