EA announces 'Battlefield 4' with a 17-minute gameplay trailer

The next entry in Electronic Arts' visually stunning Battlefield series is set to be released this fall for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. EA DICE announced Battlefield 4 alongside a 17-minute trailer that opens on a couple of soldiers listening to Bonnie Tyler's power ballad "Total Eclipse of the Heart," and proceeds to showcase the cinematic setpiece moments that titles like Battlefield 3 and the Modern Warfare series have come to be known for. The first person shooter's gameplay doesn't appear to have changed much from the series' last entry, but it's hard to find many similarities to the 2002 title, Battlefield 1942, that started it off. The game will be available for $59.99...

Zynga Sues EA, Files Rebuttal and Countersuit

Zynga responded to Electronic Arts’ copyright infringement claims on Friday with a defense of its version of a “life simulation” game and a counterclaim that alleges the game giant illegally interfered with its recruiting.

Zynga filed a pair of motions to rebut Electronic Arts’ claims in the original filing, arguing that The Ville on Facebook is not a carbon copy of EA’s The Sims Social. And in a third filing, it countersued, alleging that EA participated in unlawful actions, including anti-competitive business practices, when it came to recruiting employees.

Battlefield 3 Sells 5 Million Units In First Week, Becomes EA’s Fastest Selling Title

Battlefield 3 is here and in a major way. The latest shooter in the long-running franchise hit the interweb and retailers last week and EA just announced that they moved 5 million units within the first week. For anyone that cares, that makes Battlefield 3 the fastest selling title in EA’s 29 year history. And for good reason. EA and DICE conducted a flawless marketing campaign for Battlefield 3.
