Typography is a never ending art due to its various styles and fonts that are created continuously. Since Gutenberg and his mechanical movable type printing, typography has known an ascension and started to become more and more popular among the early designers and printers. It is an art that was always appreciated for its creativity and many styles.
Vintage typography design, as we call it today, was the start of this wonderful art of type and it had a long golden age which lasted until the the creation of digital printers and also digital ways of constructing a font, when a new typography movement started.
This vintage typography shouldn’t be associated directly with retro typography, which is a different thing. Vintage typography refers to typography prints which were made in the past, whereas retro typography is a contemporary version of it, featuring the old styles of type that are created in a digital environment or, sometimes, hand made.
I’m inviting you to observe the beautiful ways they could create prints in the golden ages of printing with the help of the neat style of fonts of those times.
